Get Involved

There are many ways you can be involved with Habitat for Humanity of Buena Vista County. We use volunteer labor to complete nearly all of a home’s construction. Whether you’re a skilled carpenter or have never hammered a nail, there is a job for you on the Habitat build site.

We partner with individuals, organizations, businesses, youth groups, and churches to make our mission a reality.

Contribute your time and labor to help construct a home
We use volunteer labor to dig and pour footings, cap the foundation, frame the walls, sheet, side, shingle, insulate, sheet-rock, install doors, windows and cabinetry, finish, paint and landscape. You can also volunteer to furnish snacks or lunches for the workers.

Put your unique skills to work on a committee
Volunteers can serve on one of eight committees: family selection, site selection, building, volunteer recruitment, family supports, publicity, church relations or development.

Donate money, land or materials
Buena Vista County Habitat for Humanity does not receive any government funding; it operates solely on volunteer labor and tax-deductible contributions of cash, materials, professional services and property to build simple, decent homes with low-incomes families. Financial contributions as well as donations of real estate or building materials are always welcome.
